WHERE TO NEXT Charlie?

Charlie's getting restless. Too much time on the couch, ready to head out. When asked where he was going, he just smiled.

Charlie is WAITING FOR AN IMPORTANT CALL

Charlie is waiting for an important call. A red phone signifies all calls coming in are important.

Is Charlie waiting for a call in a home or a motel? I don't know. If it is a motel the painting has plastic brush strokes and is nailed to the wall. If it's someone's home it still might have plastic brush strokes and be nailed to the wall. This could also be a doctor's office, but there are no magazines so I'm still betting on motel or home. Charlie seems relaxed with wherever he is.

Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring.

Is someone going to answer that? Would someone please nudge Charlie?

The WOMAN WHO SHADOWED Charlie

I fear I may have led you on with my statement that you'd see the photographer, but...Charlie with his wife somewhere in 1983.

TIMELY Charlie

Apparently Charlie liked to arrive very early for events...or arrived on the wrong day.

THE DARK SIDE of Charlie

Charlie is such an amiable fellow that it's hard to imagine him having a dark side. Sorry folks, but I think I've discovered something that will blow the Charlie story wide open.

Take a look at Charlie standing outside The Grotto & Quarterdeck in San Marcos in 1984. Happy, affable, good looking Charlie. Now, take a look at his shadow and tell me it doesn't look like the Terminator. Charlie and his shadow, a duo to be reckoned with.

It really doesn't get any better than this folks. No really. I'm not kidding. It's not going to get any better.

The FORT DAVIS TRIANGLE revealed in 1983

When I first looked at this snapshot I wondered why it was taken? Was it the bush that so entranced Charlie and his traveling companion? Was it the barren hills across the road? And then it hit me.

It's the Fort Davis Triangle! You've heard of it, haven't you? It's that place in Texas where plants, animals, and wagon trains just magically disappear...behind a giant bush covered in red berries. You'll notice that only a portion of that telephone pole is showing. I rest my case.
